Still Game Nominate Their Ceartas ‘Champion of the Month’
4 April, 2013Dementia Group Meeting on 12th April 2013
4 April, 2013Ceartas service user group Still Game along with Ceartas volunteers recently did a two day ‘Training with Attitude’ Course which was led by David Douglas from Heartfelt. The course gave the participants confidence, skills and ideas for putting together presentations about their lives and their experiences. The group thoroughly enjoyed the training and their initial presentations were very moving and very informative. Along with the volunteers, Still Game members are now working hard on developing these presentations which they will give initially to the Still Game group, but which can then be used in other settings. One of the participants, Carol, said that not only did it give her confidence to speak up about her own life and experiences, but she learned a lot about other people’s lives. Sheila (who is pictured above with her certificate) said she really enjoyed the training course and is working on a presentation about how the staff at Key Housing supported her to get married recently. We are really looking forward to seeting all their presentations over the coming months.
