Collective Advocacy

In 2025 Ceartas received funding from The National Lottery Fund to support vulnerable people in an exciting new collective advocacy project, Ceartas Voices. This project facilitates two groups allowing people with similar lived experience to support each other to have their voices heard and affect positive change within services that they have worked with.

Collective Advocacy is focused on empowering individuals and providing them with a safe space to meet with others and work together to try and improve access to information and services around them.

The Collective Advocacy Groups we facilitate are:

Ceartas Voices – Mental Health Lived Experience
This group meets every fortnight on a Friday, at the Kirkintilloch Community Sports Complex in partnership with Rob Roy Football Club to provide people with an engaging space which also has an active element. Following a discussion around mental health, the group moves outside and either plays football on the main pitch, or relaxes in the comfortable, outside seating area. Fresh filled rolls and refreshments are provided.
This group is open to anyone who would like to have their say on mental health services, have their voices heard and get active.

Ceartas Voices – Drugs/Alcohol Lived Experience
This group meets every fortnight on a Thursday at the Ceartas office in McGregor House., Kirkintilloch. It provides an opportunity for people with similar lived experience of problem substance use to come together in a relaxed, informal and non-judgmental setting. While enjoying the lunch and refreshments that are provided the group have time to discuss their experience of local services and voice their collective views on service improvements.

Please contact us if you would like some more information or to come along to one of the groups.
