In February and March of this year, as part of our collective advocacy work, Ceartas facilitated four weekly sessions with service users from Allander Day Service, where we used drama to talk about having your say.

Advocacy workers acted out a number of scenarios and then facilitated discussions with the group helping them explore how they might deal with situations where they might find it difficult to speak up for themselves. 

The group collectively agreed that they would speak to someone they trust, such as a staff member, keyworker, or family about any issues they were facing.

We then used photographs of our sessions along with what we had agreed would help us have our say to create our Having Your Say Booklet produced for this year’s Scottish Learning Disability Week.
