Last weeks ABI Café saw another great turnout, with a new member coming along and straight away receiving the benefit of ABI Café being a route to advocacy.

During the meeting Simon from Headway provided a brief exercise on Recovery After Brain Injury, where members were split into smaller groups to discuss;

• What recovery means to them
• What they were told about recovery
• What positive changes come out of Acquired Brain Injury

In August we held a service user meeting with Andy Martin from Social Work who spoke about the merger of Health and Social Work, this month we will hold a similar meeting with Karen Murray who will discuss this from the Health point of view, where members of ABI café have been invited to join us.

Finally it’s that time of year already where we’re organising Christmas outings and the group have decided on a Christmas lunch at the Puffer. We’re looking forward to it already
