27 February, 2024I chose to work with Ceartas because I am deeply passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of those who often go unheard. My decision to join this organization was driven by a desire to contribute to creating a world where everyone’s voice matters. At Ceartas, I have found an opportunity to channel my energy into advocacy work, ensuring that those who are often marginalized or overlooked have a voice and are empowered to speak up for themselves.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my role at Ceartas is being part of a collaborative team dedicated to fostering positive change. Additionally, I find fulfilment in connecting with our advocacy partners and hearing their stories. Each personal story serves as a powerful reminder of the impact advocacy can have on people’s lives.
Advocacy, in my view, is a vital service that plays a crucial role in promoting justice, equality, and inclusivity. I wholeheartedly believe that everyone should have access to advocacy services, and I would encourage anyone facing challenges or feeling unheard to reach out to their nearest advocacy service. By doing so, individuals can find support, have their voices acknowledged, and work towards creating a more equitable and compassionate society.

I chose to work at Ceartas because I am passionate about working with people who may not have a platform to speak up, with the aim of making a positive and meaningful impact in their lives. Advocacy is essential within society as it empowers individuals in need to have their voices heard and their rights upheld.
I completed my student placement with Ceartas as a social work student and I saw firsthand the direct impact that advocacy has which inspired me to take up the role.
One of my favourite aspects of working at Ceartas is there’s always an opportunity to learn something valuable from working alongside my colleagues and listening to advocacy partners which allows me to enhance my practice knowledge and skills.
In turn I feel well supported to utilise these skills to allow the individuals I work with to have their voices acknowledged and it is uplifting to be in a position that supports the protection and promotion of equality and human rights.
