On Thursday 27th we held our first Service User Forum meeting where some of our service users and board members came together to discuss their expectations for the group.

The purpose of the Forum is to allow service users a greater input into the running of Ceartas.

Compared to our various other groups, which tend to be social, the Service User Forum will be structured and quite formal – therefore it was highlighted to the members that the Forum requires a level of commitment and certain responsibilities to ensure the group achieves its goals.

There was a great turn out at the meeting with representatives from our various groups as well as Ceartas staff and Board members, who were all extremely enthusiastic and keen to get on to develop Ceartas as an organisation.

We are proud of the fact this group has come together as it is something we have been planning for a long time. The Forum will provide an opportunity to pass the expertise of members on to the board and that this will inevitably improve the quality of Ceartas services

We’re looking forward to the future of the Forum and the positive input and changes it can bring to us.
