24 April, 2013Yesterday, Ceartas Advocacy successfully attained the EFQM Committed to Excellence Award. EFQM is the European Framework for Quality Management, and the Committed to Excellence Award is the first major step on Ceartas’ journey towards organisational excellence.
Back in July of last year, Ceartas undertook a self-assessment exercise as the first step of the EFQM process. Since then the senior management team have been looking at the way Ceartas works, identifying areas that could be developed and improved, and then working with the staff, service users and volunteers to implement those improvements.
Ceartas Chief Executive Gordon Thomson said, “We are absolutely delighted to have achieved the EFQM Committed to Excellence award. The process reviews the organisation as a whole and it was especially pleasing for the quality of the services we deliver, our partnership working and most importantly to us the way in which our service users are at the heart of everything we do recognised formally.”
The EFQM Committed To Excellence Award will be formally given to the organisation at a ceremony to be held in Edinburgh on 18th June.
