This is Independent Advocacy Awareness Week 2023.

“Organised by the SIAA membership, the ‘Independent Advocacy Awareness Week’ aims to promote independent advocacy in Scotland and highlight the difference it makes in people’s lives.

The campaign will take place from Monday 24 April to Friday 28 April 2023 to raise awareness of what independent advocacy is, highlight the work of our members across Scotland and share powerful stories.”

To celebrate the occasion, Ceartas is sharing stories of change from our advocacy partners and other stakeholders.

Hear from our advocacy partners, who have told us about how Ceartas has supported them to understand their rights and exercise them.  

Our valued partners and other stakeholders tell us how they have worked in partnership with Ceartas to achieve better outcomes for adult residents of East Dunbartonshire, the people that use our routes to advocacy, ensuring they are involved and participate in decisions affecting their lives.

Common themes of our work and the impact we have at Ceartas for communities throughout East Dunbartonshire include: improved mental health, improved wellbeing and reduced isolation. Our standards to maintain as we aim to develop these aspects of our work across the area.
