20 May, 2020Mental Health Awareness Week 2020: Wellbeing Pack reaction, staff tips/highlights and the figures
29 May, 2020The team at Ceartas are working hard to maintain our service and have done so by making changes to the way we do things. This is the same for our groups, activities and events: because of the restrictions in place for the safety of the most vulnerable people in our community, we will not be able to hold an ‘in-person’ music event this summer. Instead, we are trying to put together a substitute event for our annual Music Afternoon.
The Music Afternoon is normally held on the last Friday in June, in the Kirkintilloch Baptist Church. You can find out more about last year’s event below:
This year we are trying to put together a virtual event, and we are seeking the help of some musicians to record a simple cover version video of a well-known song from the 1950s, ’60s. or ’70s. Nothing obscure, music that people would recognise from being played on the radio.
You can find a previous set list here, to get an idea of the sort of thing we are looking for. This is provided as suggestions, it is not our shopping list – feel free to add your favourite cover version of the era.
For preference, we would like videos shot in landscape (not portrait) format, ideally 16:9 aspect ratio, and they will be presented in 720p, so no point in recording at a higher resolution.
If you would like to record something for the music afternoon, please let us know what you are planning to record so that we do not duplicate songs. Please email info@ceartas.org.uk or call 0141 775 0433 and we can check the list for you.
We hope to present this as a Facebook Live event on Friday 26th June, for our group members who have access to the internet. For people who do not have access to the internet we intend to record the show on DVD. This is not a public event, we are not selling tickets or DVDs.
We will be distributing a programme to everyone who watches the show, so please give us details of your music and your merchandise and we will include them in the programme.
Thank you in advance for your support
