5 July, 2017The 5th annual Music for a Summer’s Afternoon took place on Friday the 30th June and we welcomed along past/current service users, groups, volunteers, carers and partner organisations we work with together in celebration. As everything we do at Ceartas is reliant on the input from those we work with, this event acts as a chance for us to give something back to those people who help us improve the service throughout the year.
A Big Fit Walk took place prior to the event and friend of Ceartas, Andy Lynch, was recognised for his valuable efforts supporting our groups throughout the year and received special thanks from the team at Ceartas. Andy leads health walks across East Dunbartonshire including our De Café Kirkintilloch and Milngavie group, and our Walk n Roll group which takes places right after ABI Café.
The Helen Reeves Experience then performed an array of hits including ‘500 miles’ made famous by The Proclaimers. With our very own Roy Hunter playing the double bass in the trio –Information Worker by day, musician by night- all in attendance had a lovely afternoon singing, dancing and having fun.
Generous donations from Paul’s Fine Foods, Table13, Sainsbury’s Kirkintilloch and Tesco Kirkintilloch helped make the event possible and we would like to thank all sponsors profusely for their support.
And Ceartas would like to say a massive thank you to all those who volunteered on the day: your efforts were paramount the success of the event.
