Monday – Susie attending a ‘Looked After and Accommodated’ review to offer advocacy support to a parent. These particular reviews are held every 12 weeks to review the care of children being looked after out with their parental home.
Linda went to the EDLC Coach and Volunteer Awards evening at Lenzie Golf Club. Congratulations to all involved.
Tuesday – A member of the team went to do some link work at Birdston and spoke with people currently living with dementia and long term mental health conditions.
And Karen went to De Café Bearsden in the afternoon.
Our monthly extended meeting followed by Team Lunch also took place at McGregor House.
Wednesday – The Changes group welcomed Louise Bickerton from EDCs Equality Engagement Group, who came to talk about the work the group does and to look at ways in which Changes can support this, more specifically with the ‘working with me’ guides for staff members of the council.
Some members of the team met to discuss the upcoming AGM and to review photos of the ‘A year in the life of Ceartas’ photo exhibition. Lead photographer on the project, Brian Carroll, came in to help review the photos.
Dementia Walking Football at Kirkintilloch Leisure Centre.
Thursday – Karen went on a number of home visits and provided information on dementia and dementia services in the local area. One case in particular was to specifically talk though how Power of Attorney and the process to appoint someone.
Linda went to visit S5 RMPS pupils at Lenzie Academy to support their Saltire Award applications for volunteering with the Knowing Me group. The pupils volunteered across three sessions and helped create our service users stories.
Friday – De Café Kirkintilloch welcomed Carrie Morton from East Dunbartonshire Council’s Trading Standards Team, who came to discuss Bogus Callers and how to identify them.
Alex attended the Children’s Panel, supporting a couple who are wanting a minimum contact order put in place to secure their contact time with their child.
