I know it’s only Walk ‘n’ Roll, but I like it!
28 May, 2015Ceartas is recruiting!
29 July, 2015Ceartas is part of the Shine Partnership, along with Heartfelt, C-Change and Hansel, who work with seven local authorities across Scotland to promote Self-Directed Support (SDS). One of the innovative projects the Shine Partnership is involved in is Get Onside, where they combine information and advice about SDS with football training.
The link may not seem too obvious at first glance, but both care planning and football require a game plan, tactics, skills and teamwork. Much like playing the beautiful game, using SDS should be something that you are an active participant in: it is something that you do, not something that is done to you.
Get Onside has been rolled out across the country with the help of several football clubs: Clyde; Kilmarnock; Stenhousemuir (both cricket and football!); Hibernian; and Falkirk. Here is a short film about Get Onside, made during the course at Clyde FC.
