16 October, 2014Showcasing our Presentation Skills
20 October, 2014This year has been Ceartas’ 10th year of providing advocacy and information in East Dunbartonshire.
To celebrate we hosted an event on the 2nd of October in Hayston Golf Club. There was a fantastic turn out from current and previous service users, staff and board members as well as representatives from other East Dunbartonshire organisations – it was wonderful to see so many people come together.
Guests were greeted by the sound of bagpipes and welcomed with a glass of fizz. The night was then kicked off by Nicola Williamson, one of our service users and chair of the Service User Forum, who gave a speech highlighting how far she has come and what Ceartas means to her.
During the evening there were speeches from Gordon Thomson, our Chief Executive Officer, Martin Brickley, our Chairperson and Councillor Rhonda Geekie, all of whom highlighted the importance of the service to the community.
We were then kept entertained throughout the night by our very own Roy Hunter and his band, North Wind.
There were some great comments from Still Game afterwards, here are just a few of them;
“Ceartas was very right to celebrate their 10th anniversary as this is a unique service and it’s great to see how it has grown”
“The welcoming reception with the piper and drinks was a lovely thought, it made for a very warm welcome”
“I felt very honoured to be a part of something so special”
It was a fantastic night and we look forward to the next 10 years.
