Shine is a partnership group made up of 4 organisations – Ceartas, C-Change, Heartfelt and Hansel Alliance – who are working together to ensure that people who use services are at the heart of telling others about Self Directed support.

Shine are keen to encourage more individual service users and their families to help develop a variety of materials that will inform others about SDS in East Dunbartonshire. To do this we have developed a series of information programmes, learning events and workshops for people who want to make the most of their SDS and to help them achieve the outcomes they want.

The goal for Shine is for individual service users to lead and deliver presentations and workshops throughout Scotland, along with the development of specific materials that will inform others of this change.

The process starts now and on Wednesday the 2nd April, in partnership with East Dunbartonshire Council and East Dunbartonshire Direct Payments Support Service Shine will be hosting the following free workshops in Enterprise House, Kirkintilloch;

12-2pm What is Shine? How can it work in East Dunbartonshire? What is happening elsewhere? How can I tell my story? What opportunities are there for me to take part?

3.30-4.30pm Making Shine work Specifically for younger people to design specific materials and to think about ideas for raising awareness about self-directed support

5-7pm What is Shine? Another opportunity to learn about Shine for those unable to attend earlier in the day

There will be a buffet and refreshments provided at each workshop.

If you would like to attend or for more information please contact us at Ceartas on 0141 775 0433 or email info@ceartas.org.uk
