JoJo Sutherland from Universal Comedy

On Wednesday the 19th of February several of our service users from Still Game and ABI Café came along to our Universal Comedy taster session, which gave them a taste of what they’ve signed up for during the 6 comedy workshops, beginning in March.

Universal Comedy are a charity who use comedy to help people gain confidence and deal with their circumstances through exploring the lighter side of life.

JoJo Sutherland – a well known professional comedian – came along to the taster session to work with the group, exploring what makes them laugh and help them see how they can find comedy in everyday life situations. JoJo will be working with the group over the next couple of months, as they create comedic idea and learn how to develop and present these.

The group thoroughly enjoyed the taster session, and made this clear from the laughs emanating from the meeting room.

For one participant the session was particularly inspiring and brought back memories of Sit-coms, books and films he used to enjoy which encouraged him to borrow these from the local library.

We can’t wait to have JoJo back and get started on the workshops

If you want to know more about the workshops contact Pam and ask her what a big ginger tiger of a man and a small wrinkled old mouse of a lady have in common when it comes to skydiving!
