A-Spire Christmas Trip 2013
13 December, 2013De Cafe in Bishopbriggs
14 January, 2014Ceartas has enjoyed another year of growth and success culminating with our AGM in November. This year has seen the organisation celebrate increased access to its Advocacy Services, as well as significant growth in its Service User groups including Still Game and A-Spire.
All of the organisation’s achievements over the past year have been made possible by the enthusiasm and compassion of our dedicated team of volunteers. Ceartas would like to take the opportunity to say a massive thank you to everyone who has volunteered over the past year and provided such essential support to the organisation.
With that sentiment in mind we’d like to take the chance to celebrate the contribution of 2 volunteers in particular.
Karen Faull has been a shining light for Ceartas and started volunteering way back in 2009, making her Ceartas longest-serving volunteer. Most significantly Karen helped put together our 5th Anniversary brochure for De Café and last year she worked on the Advocacy Stories booklet. Karen is a genuine asset to the organisation and we are delighted that she has stayed with us for so long and been so faithful to the organisation and those that we support.
Another volunteer whose dedication we would like to celebrate is Charlie Slater. Charlie has been a volunteer with Ceartas since 2010, and previously worked for the organisation for a number of years before that. Charlie’s commitment to Ceartas and our dementia service users is evident in the fact that he’s continued to help with De Café since he retired. He is a very faithful volunteer and his cheer and charm are appreciated by all.
In order to convey our gratitude Ceartas organised a Christmas meal for the volunteer team at Smiths Hotel in Kirkintilloch. It was a great night and it’s always really encouraging to see how well the volunteers get on with each other and how enthusiastically and proudly they support the work of Ceartas.
We wish them all a happy Christmas and a good New Year and look forward to working together with them in 2014.
