Abi Café

Our ABI Cafe met on  Thursday and really enjoyed a visit from the CEO of Ceartas, Gordon Thomson.  Gordon told the group about the SHINE Project which Ceartas are running along with Heartfelt, C-Change and Hansel in order to give people information about Self Directed Support.  What’s different about the approach of SHINE is that it’s those who have experience of services and self directed support who will be delivering training to individuals and professionals to make sure people have the information to make informed choices about the services they receive.  The ABI Cafe members also want to produce a Booklet next year to raise awareness of brain injury – hopefully this will be launched at the ABI Seminar in May.  But of course the main topic of this day was what to have to eat at the Christmas lunch at the Puffer in December . . . . mmmm Turkey everytime for me thanks!  For more info about ABI Cafe or support for those with an acquried brain injury, contact Pam at Ceartas on 0141 775 0433.
