Ceartas Highlighted in Adults Support and Protection Work
20 September, 2013Ceartas Advocacy Annual General Meeting: 28th November 2013
4 October, 2013Our Service User Group, Still Game, met on Tuesday and were delighted to hear from one of their members who did a presentation about her life. Carole used to be a nurse and now is on the receiving end of care services . . . Carole did a great job of sharing her insights and her experiences of being at both ends of care. Her key message to professionals was to treat people as you would want to be treated . . . you never know when you will be on the receiving end!
Carole and her husband, Tam were also nominated by the group as our next Ceartas Champions. This was for their contribution to Ceartas and Still Game and for all they have achieved in recent months despite their own difficulties.
Some of the Group members recently looked at re-designing the Ceartas Advocacy Guide and others are going to be involved in the next Development Day at the end of October. They also thought about some questions and desired qualities for new Ceartas staff.
Another member of the group, George, was interviewed about his life, his interests and what he would do if he was in charge of Ceartas! For more information about Still Game, contact Pam Thomson.
