4 September, 2013Getting older isn’t all bad news…
The good news about getting older is that we are living longer, and have more to look forward to in retirement. But in order to flourish and thrive in later life, we need to prepare for it properly. Living well in later life requires physical wellbeing, mental wellbeing, some financial and legal preparation, and knowing who to turn to when you need a bit more help and support.
Ceartas Advocacy is teaming up with East Dunbartonshire Leisure & Culture Trust and Solicitors for Older People Scotland to bring you an information event and seminars all about preparing to flourish in the future. We understand how important it is to act now so that you are prepared for the future, and we want to give you an opportunity to find out what you can do.
Flourishing in East Dunbartonshire will be held on Thursday 10th October, between 10am and 3pm, at the Kirkintilloch Leisure Centre. You can drop in throughout the day to pick up some information from the many stands that will be available. There will also be a series of seminars on the day, and booking for the seminars is essential:
- Preparing for the future: financial planning, power of attorney and wills – with Solicitors for Older People Scotland.
- Independent Advocacy and OPAL, the Older People’s Access Line – with OPAL.
- Advance Statements and Advance Care Planning – with Ceartas Advocacy.
- Income Maximisation: benefits, allowances and credits – with East Dunbartonshire Citizens Advice Bureau.
To book your places at the seminars, or for more information, please contact Ceartas Advocacy on 0141 775 0433 or email info@ceartas.org.uk.
