11 October, 2012New Report on Older People and Medical Care
15 October, 2012Our monthly cafe for people with Acquired Brain Injury is going from strength to strength with new people attending each month. Ceartas regularly receive phone calls from professionals, individuals and carers who are aware of the impact of brain injury and the need to provide such a resource as ABI Cafe in the East Dunbartonshire area.
On Thursday 4th October, the group had a visit from Gus Ironside from Brain Tumour UK who was able to give the group some very helpful information. The group were delighted that Ceartas have received a small grant which will allow them to run for another 6 months. The group were grateful to Pat, our Volunteer, for managing to secure this. Some of the group members are keen to do some fundraising and look at trying to find funding to run another Conference next year and to help develop this much needed group further.
In November, ABI Cafe will host a brain injury group from West Dunbartonshire who are coming along to show us a DVD they made recently about living with brain injury. We are really looking forward to their visit. For further details about ABI Cafe, contact Pam Thomson at Ceartas 0141 775 0433.
