De Cafe

De Cafe is a cafe for people with dementia and their carers. It is an informal setting where different people with dementia and their carers can meet and speak to each other.

De Cafe aims to provide a relaxed and informal environment where people can talk to each other about some of the issues they face living with a diagnosis of dementia.

De Cafe can also provide people with information about dementia and local services as well as helping to prevent isolation for people with dementia and their carers.De_Cafe_17a_copy

De Cafe has a regular attendance of between 20 - 30 people. Around half are partners/carers and half are people with a dementia. There is a 'core group' of 10 - 15 people; some of whom have attended since the inauguration of De Cafe in 2005.

People have been signposted to De Cafe by local GP's, the Woodlands Centre, the Dementia Information and Support Group and through the ongoing work of Ceartas.

If you are interested in joining us at a De Cafe get-together, you can look at our events section for future dates or call us on 0141 775 0433 for more information, ask for Susie or Lyndsey.
