Information
Having information can at times be a burden rather than a benefit. You can search the internet or grab loads of leaflets and still feel no further forward. Community Care has at times been described as a maze and that is sometimes a pretty good description especially if it’s new to you.
We can't promise that Ceartas staff know everything but what we can promise we will work with you to find out what you want and what you need to know for the situation that you are facing. Some common enquiries are: moving to a care home; obtaining a power of attorney; guardianship, attending tribunals, direct payments.
Sometimes we can answer queries immediately, at other times we may need to make a few phone calls but throughout you will get personalised service and if we can’t solve your query we will try to put you in touch with the people who can.
Remember too we are happy to provide information on legislation such as the Adults with Incapacity Act, Mental Health Care & Treatment Act and the Adult Support & Protection Act as well as other agencies important in care, like health and social work services, the Care Commission and the Mental Welfare Commission.
Our experienced staff will be happy to arrange a home visit with you or if you prefer you can come and visit us at out offices where you’ll get a nice warm cuppa…
