My mum was the rock in the family, now my father does mostly everything. She has changed, repeating conversations, becoming incontinent, aggressive and emotionally detached. But she will always be the head of the family and the cement that holds it all together. But what about all those families that don’t have that? That is why Ceartas should be proud of it's organisation.


 

De Cafe

De Café is an informal café setting for people concerned about dementia. It is a relaxed environment where people can access information on dementia and local services in East Dunbartonshire.

De Café is a place where people access information when they want and information appropriate to what they want to know at the time of asking. We are not into giving people bundles of books and leaflets just for the sake of it!

The group also has guest speakers most months who speak on a variety of topics and not just about services or health matters.

Over the years numbers at De Café have doubled in strength and we now have a regular gathering of between 25 – 35 folk. All who attend enjoy the company of others who are in similar situations and the chance to chat with others and De Café at times can act as a stepping stone to accessing other local services.

De Café started in 2005 our meetings are on the last Friday of the month from 1.30-3.00pm in the Kirkintilloch Baptist Church. We would love to see you there!
