Thanks to the Life Changes Trust, we have secured funding to take up to six people with dementia and their carers to the Alzheimer Europe Annual Conference in Glasgow, from the 20th – 22nd October 2014.

Karen Heath, our Information Development Worker, said, “We are delighted that the Life Changes Trust has provided the funding to help people who are affected by dementia to attend this important event. An entire two-day conference would probably be too long for most people with dementia, so we are planning to take them for just a morning or an afternoon. This should mean that they can make a contribution to the conference, but also take something away from it without becoming too tired”.

The Alzheimer Europe Annual Conference is being held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Glasgow, from Monday 20th until Wednesday 22nd October. The theme for this year’s conference is ‘Dignity and Autonomy in Dementia’. You can find out more about the conference at the Alzheimer Europe Website.
