Ceartas (pronounced Kier-tis) is the Gaelic word for equality, fairness and justice. This is what we wish to achieve and promote as we work with people in East Dunbartonshire.
The aim of advocacy is to support people to express their views to others. If the person finds this difficult then an advocate will represent the person's views for them.
Ceartas work alongside individuals in a variety of circumstances, from providing support at meetings, such as case conferences or review proceedings to contacting other agencies and talking to them on the person's behalf, such as Social Work and Health teams.
