ABI Café is a support and information group for people affected by Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) in East Dunbartonshire and is a joint venture between Ceartas Advocacy and Headway, the Brain Injury Charity.
ABI Café has regular visiting speakers, usually followed by a lively discussion. Staff from Ceartas Advocacy and Headway Glasgow are always in attendance to offer advice, information and advocacy support.
The group holds monthly meetings in the café of the Kirkintilloch Baptist Church. The venue is fully accessible, and carers and supporters are very welcome to attend. Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided.
One of the biggest achievements of ABI Café is that since 2012 the members have hosted and run an annual ABI seminar to raise awareness of brain injury in the area.
